Team UK Elite 2016!

Team UK Elite

This summer, Team UK Elite will once again test themselves against the very best in youth soccer as they head overseas to  participate in two of Europe’s biggest international tournaments. Now into their 10th year Team UK Elite will take two groups to both Spain and Sweden to participate in the Donosti Cup and Gothia Cup respectively; two international tournaments steeped in history, class and sublime talent.

The Donosti Cup is a magnificent tournament held in the historic coastal city of San Sebastian. Over 150 players and family members across six teams will compete in Spain’s largest tournament featuring over 2000 soccer players from over 20 counties across four continents, creating a spectacle of youth international soccer that is not to be missed.

Players from all across America will come together to make up Team UK Elite with teams competing in both boys and girls brackets. The girls will be represented in the Under 12 and 14 categories whilst the boys will field teams at under 12, 13, 14 and 16 level ensuring there will be plenty of representation across the whole of the tournament.

Alongside this, a group 140 strong will be embarking on Sweden under the banner of Team UK Elite Connecticut to compete in the Gothia Cup; the worlds largest youth soccer tournament, with around 1600 teams from 80 nations taking part to play 4500 games. In it’s history the Gothia Cup has hosted almost a million players from a total of 141 countries.

Aside from the soccer, Team UK Elite families are able to indulge in local Spanish and Scandinavian culture with plenty of opportunity and scheduled excursions to local locations and landmarks throughout, making these trips unforgettable family vacations.

To celebrate the 10th year of Team UK Elite, a new logo has been unveiled and will be displayed on each players jersey. This new logo encompasses the passion and history of Team UK Elite whilst bringing each player together under one unique brand.

Team UK Elite depart for Spain on June 30th with their first stop scheduled for Madrid before they make their way to San Sebastian for the opening ceremony on July 4th. Whilst Team UK Elite Connecticut start their journey July 18th with their opening ceremony July 18th.
